POLAND DARTS OPEN KICKS OFF IN KRAKOW WITH STACKED FRIDAY EVENING SESSION

The Poland Darts Open, the very first Euro Tour event of the season and the first ever in Poland, continues on Friday evening in Krakow with the first round. The tournament features a 48-player field, with the top 16 seeds entering directly into the second round. The remaining 32 players, including several big names, will battle in the first round on Friday, with the second round, third round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final to follow over the weekend. The eventual champion will claim £35,000 in prize money.

The evening session, starting at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026, features eight first-round matches. The schedule includes Wessel Nijman versus Thomas Lovely, Daryl Gurney against Dawid Robak, Damon Heta taking on Connor Scutt, Krzysztof Ratajski facing Mickey Mansell, Dirk van Duijvenbode playing Adam Gawlas, Niko Springer meeting Cristo Reyes, Joe Cullen battling Krzysztof Kciuk, and Mike De Decker clashing with Marvin Kraft.

Key storylines abound. Wessel Nijman, who tops the Players Championship Order of Merit and sits second on the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit after winning a floor title this season, faces Thomas Lovely, a Tour Card Holders' Qualifier winner still seeking his first Euro Tour match win. Home favorite Krzysztof Ratajski, a two-time Euro Tour winner, headlines against Mickey Mansell. Damon Heta, now ranked 17th in the world, meets Connor Scutt, who has won just one of his previous nine Euro Tour matches. Joe Cullen, outside the top 32, plays local Krakow resident Krzysztof Kciuk, while Mike De Decker, world number 19, begins a crucial year against German newcomer Marvin Kraft.

Other intriguing matchups include Daryl Gurney, a two-time major champion, against Host Nation Qualifier debutant Dawid Robak, who averaged 71, 77, and 89 in qualifying. Dirk van Duijvenbode, ranked 30th, takes on Adam Gawlas, who reached the semi-finals at Players Championship 1 after regaining his Tour Card. The clash between Germany's top prospect Niko Springer, a 2025 Euro Tour finalist and title winner, and returning Spaniard Cristo Reyes, who has qualified for three of the first four Euro Tours this year, rounds out the action-packed session.
