Luke Littler has shattered Michael van Gerwen's record by becoming the fastest player to win five European Tour titles, achieving the feat in just 14 tournaments. The 19-year-old Englishman made history last weekend by defeating Poland Darts Open finalist Gian van Veen 8-4 to claim his fifth crown, underscoring his exceptional talent and mental resilience on the continent.
For comparison, Michael van Gerwen needed 21 tournaments to land his fifth European Tour title, while other top players required significantly more outings: Luke Humphries took 30 tournaments, Peter Wright 48, Gerwyn Price 57, Michael Smith 77, and Dave Chisnall 83. The European Tour is known for intense schedules and high averages, often featuring hostile home crowds, but Littler has thrived, routinely posting 100+ averages and showing no fear in decisive moments.
The European Tour resumes on the weekend of March 13-15 with the European Darts Trophy in Göttingen, where Nathan Aspinall will defend his title after beating Ryan Joyce 8-4 in last year's final. Littler, however, will not be present in Germany this year.
