LUKE LITTLER JOINS ELITE EUROPEAN TOUR AVERAGE CLUB, BUT VAN GERWEN STILL REIGNS SUPREME

LUKE LITTLER JOINS ELITE EUROPEAN TOUR AVERAGE CLUB, BUT VAN GERWEN STILL REIGNS SUPREME

Luke Littler has etched his name into an exclusive statistical club after his victory at the Poland Darts Open last weekend. The 19-year-old Englishman defeated Gian van Veen 8-4 in the final to claim the title, his fifth on the European Tour. More impressively, Littler finished the tournament in Krakow with a remarkable average of 105.37.

That performance places Littler among only three players to ever record a tournament average above 105 on the European Tour. The undisputed king remains Michael van Gerwen, who has achieved the feat three times. Van Gerwen, who boasts a record 37 European Tour titles, posted a 107.58 average at the 2018 European Darts Grand Prix, a 106.67 average at the 2017 German Darts Masters, and a 105.82 average at the 2018 European Darts Trophy.

Luke Humphries is the other member of this illustrious group, having surpassed the 105 average mark twice. 'Cool Hand Luke' recorded a 107.51 average at the 2024 German Darts Grand Prix and a 105.42 average at the 2024 Czech Darts Open.

The European Tour continues on the weekend of March 13-15, 2026, with the European Darts Trophy in Göttingen. Nathan Aspinall will defend his title there, having beaten Ryan Joyce 8-4 in last year's final. The following week, the tour moves to Wieze for the Belgian Darts Open, where Luke Littler will begin as the defending champion.
