SCOTT WILLIAMS REVEALS NEW WALK-ON SONG AND FA CUP PAST: "I'M TOO TALL AND GANGLY"

PDC world number 44 Scott Williams has announced a new walk-on song and opened up about his brief football career in a recent podcast appearance. The Englishman, nicknamed "Shaggy," will soon make his stage entrance to "Metalingus" by Alter Bridge, the WWE theme of former wrestler Edge, marking another change in his musical direction.

Williams explained his choice on the Happy Hour Podcast, detailing his previous walk-on tracks. He initially used a song by My Chemical Romance, which he described as "a wicked song" but also "an unofficial song for suicide," noting he lost a couple of friends to suicide just as he started playing darts. Around the World Championship, he switched to "Golden" for the K-pop Demon Hunters, but is now opting for "Metalingus." According to Williams, not everyone understood the background to his initial choice, leading to the changes.

In the same conversation, Williams looked back on his youth, revealing he once dreamed of becoming a professional footballer and even featured in FA Cup qualifying. He said, "Footballer every day of the week, because from the age of six, seven or eight, when I first started playing, that was all I wanted to do." Williams played for Boston Town, starting as a goalkeeper before moving to the wing, and participated in preliminary rounds of the FA Cup. He added, "I was decent. I'm a better goalkeeper than an outfield player because I'm too tall and too gangly, really."
