SULJOVIC IN ANOTHER 'CHEAT' STORM DURING UK OPEN WIN OVER WATTIMENA

Mensur Suljovic has found himself embroiled in another controversy, this time during his 2026 UK Open victory over Jermaine Wattimena in Minehead. The incident occurred with the match tied at 4-4, when Suljovic paused the contest to deliver a verbal dressing down to his opponent. It remains unclear whether the Austrian was accusing Wattimena of cheating or responding to being called a cheat himself, sparking divided opinions among darts fans online.

This marks the second such storm for Suljovic in recent months. At the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship in December, his contentious win over Joe Cullen led to allegations of cheating. Cullen took to social media platform X afterward, posting a viral message that read: "If that’s darts , I don’t want no part of it! Always liked Mensur away from the board but that was plain for all to see! I don’t think I’m alone in feeling this way. The old guard will say it’s part of the game but word it how you will - it’s CHEATING! That’s not darts."

Despite the controversy, Suljovic advanced to the last 32 of the UK Open with his win over Wattimena. The match was part of the tournament held in Minehead, with the incident adding to the Austrian's recent history of contentious moments on the oche.
