Fallon Sherrock is set to make her debut in the International Pairs Week of the MODUS Super Series, teaming up with former Lakeside champion Steve Beaton in what she calls a "dream" England pairing. The event, which starts on Monday, 20/04, will feature twelve countries, and Sherrock expressed excitement about representing her nation again, noting the invitation felt special as it wasn't a given. She said, "I'm really looking forward to it, especially to play with Steve. He's such an icon. He's such like an asset to Darts as it is, and to have the privilege to play with him, I can't wait."
Sherrock and Beaton have known each other from exhibitions and tournaments, though they haven't often played together. Sherrock highlighted their past encounters, including Beaton beating her at the Worlds, which she says shows "the calibre of player he is." She expects the partnership to be both fun and competitive, adding, "He's a great laugh and someone to play, like I'm actually really excited to play pairs with him because I think we'll have a great laugh as we're doing it, and hopefully we can bring out our standard of Darts."
Adapting to pairs play presents a new challenge for Sherrock, who mainly competes in singles. She mentioned, "Probably just the waiting time. I think I'm just going to have to get used to like playing pairs again, because I think it's been a while since I've played pairs, because I'm used to just playing singles, but I'm just going to go enjoy myself and hopefully my game can shine through and not let him down." Despite England never having won the pairs event, Sherrock is confident about their chances, declaring, "Oh, we're going to win it. Me and Steve are going to win it. I'm just putting it out there right now. I'd love to bring it home."
