JONNY CLAYTON BATTLES GOUT TO CRUSH LUKE HUMPHRIES FOR NOTTINGHAM PREMIER LEAGUE TRIUMPH

Jonny Clayton produced a dominant display to defeat reigning champion Luke Humphries 6-1 in the final of Night Six of the 2026 Premier League Darts at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena, securing his second weekly win of the season. The Welshman averaged 99.59 in the final and sealed victory on double 16, extending his lead at the top of the Premier League table. Remarkably, Clayton spent much of the evening visibly struggling with a leg issue, hobbling around the stage, with Sky Sports reporter Abigail Davies later revealing on social media that the league leader is currently battling a bout of gout.

Clayton opened his campaign with a 6-3 quarter-final victory over Michael van Gerwen, finishing with a 95.47 average and sealing the win on double four. He then secured his place in the final with a 6-3 semi-final win over Stephen Bunting, landing six of his 11 attempts at double while Bunting missed a string of opportunities, converting just three of 21. On the other side of the draw, Humphries began with a 6-4 win over Gian van Veen before edging a high-quality semi-final against Luke Littler 6-5, averaging 105.71 and sealing victory with a stunning 128 checkout.

The final saw Clayton break immediately after Humphries missed an early chance, moving 2-0 ahead. Humphries responded with a superb 121 checkout on the bullseye to make it 2-1, but that proved his only leg. Clayton restored his two-leg advantage on double four, then produced a brilliant 146 checkout to break again and lead 4-1. A clinical 44 finish brought him to the brink before he calmly pinned double 16 to complete a commanding 6-1 victory.

Earlier in the evening, Luke Littler edged a thrilling 6-5 quarter-final victory over Gerwyn Price in a match packed with big scoring and high-quality finishing. Littler averaged 108.66 and fired in ten maximums, while Price produced back-to-back ton-plus checkouts, including a 152 finish, and forced a deciding leg with a nerveless 98 checkout. Elsewhere, Stephen Bunting defeated Josh Rock 6-1 in the opening quarter-final, with Rock converting just one of his ten attempts at double, leaving him still searching for his first win of the campaign after six weeks and rooted to the bottom of the table.
