Noa-Lynn van Leuven has announced via social media that she has been selected again for the Dutch national team under the World Darts Federation (WDF), this time in the open category. The selection comes amid new rules requiring trans players to compete in the open rather than women's category, which Van Leuven noted made her return "far from certain."
"Proud is honestly an understatement right now," Van Leuven wrote on Instagram. "I've officially qualified again for the Dutch team, and this time in the open category. With all the new rules and changes this year, it definitely wasn't a given… which makes this one feel even more special." She added, "Grateful, proud and very excited to wear orange again and represent the Netherlands."
Van Leuven, who has become a mainstay in international darts, will not have to wait long for her next challenge: the 4 Nations Cup is scheduled in two weeks. She expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Next stop: the 4 Nations Cup in two weeks. Let's go." The tournament serves as a key test ahead of larger WDF championships.
With this selection, Van Leuven reaffirms her place in the Dutch setup, emphasizing that wearing the national shirt remains an honor and a motivation to perform at the highest level.
