PAUL KROHNE SEALS FIRST EUROPEAN TOUR WIN, SET FOR JOSH ROCK CLASH

Paul Krohne has broken through on the European Tour, securing his maiden victory at the European Darts Trophy 2026 in Göttingen. The German youngster edged past Cameron Menzies 6-4 in the first round, marking his first win on the tour in his third attempt. Krohne, who is enjoying a strong season after winning the Dutch Open 2026 and two NEXT GEN Tour titles, sealed the match on double 8, capitalizing on Menzies' struggles—the Scottish opponent missed 22 doubles overall.

Speaking to MC Philip Brzezinski after the match, Krohne expressed relief at the milestone. "It's a relief," said the 25-year-old. "I think I didn't play badly the last two times either. Now I'm living a bit off Cammy's mistakes, but I win it and I'm over the moon." When asked about Menzies' doubling woes, Krohne grinned and replied, "Yeah, luckily. I'm just glad that one went in," pointing to his match dart still lodged in the board during the interview.

The win sets up a daunting second-round challenge for Krohne, as he faces Premier League star Josh Rock in the first match of the Saturday evening session. The atmosphere is expected to intensify, with around 4,000 fans anticipated—a stark contrast to the roughly 300 spectators present for his Friday afternoon victory. Krohne, relishing the experience, told the crowd, "I just enjoy being up here. I hope you're having fun—I'm having fun," drawing loud cheers from the arena.
