Luke Littler produced a stunning comeback to win the seventh night of Premier League Darts in Dublin, clawing back from a 5-0 deficit to defeat Gerwyn Price 6-5 in the final. The young Englishman, currently the world number one, admitted afterwards that he had mentally given up on the contest when trailing heavily. "I waved him goodbye because in my head I was finished," Littler revealed, describing how he thought the match was over.
The turning point came when Price's game began to falter. Littler noted, "When it got to 5-3, Gez started to drop a bit. I think he hit something like a 42 or a 59 start to a leg, and that's where I started to come back at him." The stats highlighted Littler's efficiency under pressure: he posted a 50 percent checkout rate compared to Price's 26 percent. "Obviously, I've seen the checkout percentage — I think Gez was on 26%, I was on 50%, so it's OK overall," Littler said modestly.
Littler credited his resurgence to playing with freedom once the match seemed lost. "When you're 5-0 down, you forget about everything. You just throw with freedom — you're not really bothered," he explained. This victory marks his second nightly title of the campaign, earning crucial points that have closed him to within three points of leader Jonny Clayton in the standings. Reflecting on the season, Littler added, "Yeah, definitely. Obviously, I picked up two points last week, and then I've come here and won it. But for myself, I always say: win that first game, get two points on the board, and anything extra is a bonus."
