GLEN DURRANT REVEALS £5,000 OFFER TO TAKE OVER ADRIAN LEWIS' WALK-ON SONG: 'I SAID NO CHANCE'

Glen Durrant has revealed that he once attempted to take over Adrian Lewis's walk-on music by offering the two-time world champion £5,000 for the track. The former Premier League winner disclosed on the Double Tops podcast that after switching from the BDO to the PDC in 2019, he quickly appeared on TV by winning a couple of ProTours early doors but hated his own walk-on song. Durrant said, "I came over in 2019 with the same walk on as Adrian Lewis. Suddenly I'm on TV quite quickly because I win a couple of ProTours early doors. I hated my walk-on song."

Noticing the importance of a good walk-on during his strong start in the PDC, Durrant wanted Lewis's music and instructed his manager, Mac Elkin, to offer five thousand pounds. However, the attempt failed as Lewis rejected the proposal outright. Durrant laughed, "Thank God he didn't. Thank you," while Lewis responded, "I said no chance."

Durrant emphasized that the right walk-on song can give a player an extra 1% on stage, stating, "I think a walk-on song can give you 1%. We've seen some powerful walk-ons." He never felt he found the right track himself, adding, "I can't remember my other walk-on songs that I had. That's the one I wanted. It's a good one. I wanted it off Adrian."
