LAURA TURNER HAILS BEAU GREAVES' 'FANTASTIC' MINDSET SHIFT AFTER SHERROCK ENDS 114-MATCH WINNING STREAK

Beau Greaves's remarkable 114-match winning streak in the PDC Women's Series came to a dramatic end last weekend, as Fallon Sherrock delivered a 'top-drawer performance' to secure victory in the fifth event. Sherrock averaged 102 to overcome Greaves, a statistic that analyst and fellow player Laura Turner highlighted on the Love The Darts podcast, noting it underscored the soaring standards in women's darts.

Turner, who witnessed the match closely, revealed a significant change in Greaves's reaction to defeat. She recounted that after previous losses, Greaves had expressed a sense of expectation or relief, but this time, her response was starkly different. "I asked her again this time how she felt," Turner said, "and she said, 'No, I was really annoyed.' For me, that's fantastic." Turner interpreted this as a crucial turning point, marking a shift from acceptance to the hunger and frustration that define elite athletes.

Praising Greaves's overall impact, Turner emphasized that she is "not just good for women's darts—she's incredible in darts overall," increasingly judged on par with male counterparts. Turner, who has faced Greaves herself, admitted, "I love playing against her, but sometimes I get caught up just watching because she's so, so good." She added that Greaves's dominance forces opponents to elevate their game, as "you know you have to step it up," though she acknowledged the challenge, saying, "It's tough." Despite the intensity, Turner appreciated small victories, like winning "a couple of legs," and noted Greaves's respectful demeanor off the oche, being "really complimentary afterwards."
