KEANE BARRY POSTS TOP AVERAGE AT PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP 7 AS ANDERSON AND VAN GERWEN CRACK TOP 10

Keane Barry produced the highest average of the day at Players Championship 7 in Leicester, firing a 109.43 in a 6-2 first-round win over Krzysztof Ratajski. Barry eventually reached the semi-finals, where he narrowly lost 7-6 to Alan Soutar. Gary Anderson delivered the second-highest average, a 108.33 in a 6-3 last-16 victory over James Hurrell, before falling 7-3 to Ryan Searle in the semi-finals. Chris Dobey completed the top three with a 106.09 average in a 6-0 last-64 sweep of Adam Gawlas; Dobey later lost 6-2 to Anderson in the quarter-finals.

Michael van Gerwen also featured in the top 10 averages, posting 105.00 in a 6-2 opening-round win over Ricky Evans. Van Gerwen made the last 16, where he lost 6-3 to compatriot Jeffrey Sparidaans. The tournament was won by Ryan Searle, who defeated Alan Soutar 8-3 in the final, marking Searle's seventh consecutive year with at least one PDC Pro Tour title.
