DANNY NOPPERT REVEALS KEY TO SUCCESS: FAMILY SUPPORT AND EUROPEAN TOUR AMBITION

Danny Noppert has opened up about his life as a professional darter, emphasizing the crucial role of family support in his career. Speaking during the Belgian Darts Open two weeks ago, the Dutchman, whose name is back in the world's top ten, expressed satisfaction with his consistent level but remains hungry for more. "I want to be back in the top eight again," Noppert said, as per Tungsten Tales, adding, "top 10 is, of course, a good result. I'm really happy with my performance today." His highest position on the PDC Order of Merit was sixth.

Noppert views the busy darts schedule differently from many players, putting it into perspective. "I think if I play Premier League then I can say it's a busy schedule," he explained. "So for me it's okay now. Last week we played a tournament, this weekend we played a tournament, so I have a lot of time at home." He highlighted the importance of enjoyment, stating, "It's not that busy, but I enjoy everything, every moment, so that's most important. If you enjoy every moment in darts, then yeah."

The life of a professional darter has become second nature to Noppert, who described it as "my lifestyle." He noted that even going on holiday to Gran Canaria and missing tournaments later in the year will feel strange. Key to his success is the unwavering support from his family, especially his partner. "The most important thing is that my family is behind me. They support me really well," Noppert said. "If I ask my girlfriend if there is a tournament or an exhibition to play, she says do everything. She's really behind me." With two young children at home, this trust is essential, as he added, "She gives me the confidence that I need."

Despite an impressive résumé that includes Pro Tour and major wins, Noppert has one specific goal still on his bucket list: a European Tour title. "Of course I won Pro Tours before and I won a major," he said. "The European Tour — once, maybe more — but it's on my bucket list." He finds motivation in the recent breakthrough of fellow Dutch player Wessel Nijman at that level, saying, "Hopefully I will do it and if I play like this, what I did today, then everything is possible. It's on my list." Noppert is back in action this weekend at the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich.
