KEVIN DOETS EYES BREAKTHROUGH TITLE AFTER HISTORIC RUN IN MUNICH

Kevin Doets has taken a significant step forward in his career by reaching the finals session of a European Tour event for the first time, defeating compatriot Dirk van Duijvenbode 6-5 in the last 16 of the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich. The Dutchman hit 10 180s and averaged 107.70 in the match, showcasing his growing prowess on the big stage.

After the win, Doets expressed his satisfaction with the milestone, stating, "Amazing, you know. I have fought for this for a couple of years now, and to be finally able to do it in this way is amazing." He emphasized his focus on his own game, regardless of his opponent's style, saying, "I don't really care who I play. If he's a cool character, if he is a very energetic character. I just try to play my own game, and I think I did it very well today." Doets also described shutting himself off from external distractions during matches, noting, "I don't look at them, I don't listen to them. I am on the stage doing my own thing, focussing on my own mind and I don't try to distract myself with anyone or anything else."

With this quarterfinal berth, Doets has clear ambitions for the season ahead. He stated plainly, "At least I would like to win a title. If it's the Players Championships or if it's the Euro Tour, I would like to walk away this year with a title. If not, then I won't be satisfied." His next challenge is a quarterfinal match against compatriot Niels Zonneveld on Monday evening at the German Darts Grand Prix, as he continues his pursuit of that elusive breakthrough victory.
