ONLY SEVEN PLAYERS SURVIVE EVERY OPENING ROUND ON 2026 PRO TOUR

Four Players Championship tournaments into the 2026 season, the Pro Tour is already highlighting a rare feat: consistency. Across Players Championship 1 to 4, only seven players have managed to win their opening round match at every event, showcasing the brutal nature of the floor circuit defined by short formats, fine margins, and relentless depth.

The exclusive group includes Rob Cross, Max Hopp, Wessel Nijman, Madars Razma, Tom Sykes, Lukas Wenig, and Luke Woodhouse. All seven have successfully cleared the first hurdle in every Players Championship held so far this season, a task the vast majority of the field has failed to do at least once.

Winning a first-round match may seem minor, but it's often the most dangerous point of the tournament. With no protection based on ranking or reputation, and matches played without a crowd in a floor setting, lower-ranked players can punish any lapse in focus. One poor leg, missed double, or slow start can end a campaign early, making repeated survival a strong indicator of form and concentration rather than just scoring power.

Among the seven, only Wessel Nijman has turned that consistency into a title, lifting the trophy at Players Championship 2. For Rob Cross, the statistic reinforces his long-established reliability on the floor, while Madars Razma and Luke Woodhouse underline their growing stability. The presence of Max Hopp and Lukas Wenig also reflects the increasing depth of German darts at this level. With most of the Players Championship season still ahead, maintaining this record will become harder with every event, but for now, these seven stand alone.
