LITTLER CRUISES PAST DE DECKER AT POLISH DARTS OPEN, HUMPHRIES SURVIVES SCARE

World champion Luke Littler delivered a dominant performance to advance to the last 16 at the Poland Darts Open in Krakow, thrashing Mike de Decker 6-1. Littler, the reigning world champion, landed three 180s and averaged almost 114 in a ruthless display as he aims to become the inaugural champion at this first European Tour event held in Poland. The 19-year-old will face Ross Smith in the next round after Smith's 6-1 victory over Daryl Gurney.

Elsewhere, world number two Luke Humphries survived a tense last-leg decider to beat home favourite Krzysztof Ratajski 6-5. Humphries looked in control at 4-1 up, but Ratajski, inspired by the Polish fans, fought back to level the tie at 5-5 before the Englishman secured the win. In another close match, World Championship runner-up Gian van Veen edged past Andrew Gilding 6-5, while Stephen Bunting defeated Niels Zonneveld 6-4 despite missing 17 doubles.

Jonny Clayton followed up his Premier League win in Glasgow last week with a 6-4 victory over Adam Gawlas. Other results included Boris Krcmar beating Martin Schindler 6-4, Chris Dobey whitewashing Connor Scutt 6-0, Nathan Aspinall defeating Darryl Pilgrim 6-3, Jermaine Wattimena edging Danny Noppert 6-5, Wessel Nijman overcoming Gary Anderson 6-2, Cameron Menzies thrashing James Wade 6-0, Cristo Reyes beating Ryan Searle 6-2, Josh Rock defeating William O'Connor 6-1, Michael Smith narrowly beating Joe Cullen 6-5, and Luke Woodhouse winning 6-4 against Callan Rydz.
