GERWYN PRICE CROWNED PREMIER LEAGUE KING IN ANTWERP WITH VICTORY OVER VAN GERWEN

Gerwyn Price claimed victory on Night Two of the Premier League Darts in Antwerp, defeating Michael van Gerwen 6-3 in the final. Price averaged 104 in the final, with his average reaching 115 for most of the closing legs. Despite the loss, Van Gerwen leaves Belgium top of the Premier League table. Price's path to the title included 6-5 quarter-final and semi-final wins over Gian van Veen and Jonny Clayton, respectively, before overcoming Van Gerwen.

The final saw Price break early with a double four for 1-0 after Van Gerwen was way back. A 78 checkout put Price 2-0 up. Van Gerwen responded with a nonchalant 167 checkout to make it 2-1. Price missed 100 for 3-1, allowing Van Gerwen to smash in a 160 checkout to break and level at 2-2. Price then broke back with an 82 checkout for 3-2. After Price missed two double 20s on 134, Van Gerwen had a chance at 160 but couldn't get near it, and Price hit double 10 for 4-2. Price missed double 12 for 84, and Van Gerwen missed double 20 on 75, allowing Price to take double six for 5-2. Price missed chances on 108 and 56, and Van Gerwen hit double four for 5-3, but Price sealed the win.

In the semi-finals, Michael van Gerwen edged past Luke Littler 6-4 in a match featuring multiple breaks of throw. Van Gerwen broke early for 1-0, Littler broke back to level at 1-1, and held with a 107 checkout for 2-1. Van Gerwen pinned 32 for 2-2, broke again for 3-2, and after exchanges, held with double 16 for the win. Gerwyn Price won an all-Welsh battle with Jonny Clayton 6-5. Clayton led 3-2 and 5-4, but Price broke back and won the decider.

The quarter-finals saw Luke Littler get his first win of the Premier League season, coming from 4-1 down to defeat Luke Humphries 6-5. Humphries spurned a 4-1 lead, with Littler breaking back and eventually winning after Humphries missed a golden chance on double 20. Michael van Gerwen eased past Josh Rock 6-2, breaking early and surging to a 4-1 lead before sealing victory. Jonny Clayton came from 4-1 down to defeat Stephen Bunting 6-4, winning five legs in a row, including a 124 checkout to claim the match. Gerwyn Price edged past Gian van Veen 6-5, with Van Veen leading 4-2 early, but Price broke back and won despite late misses from both players.
