Josh Rock etched his name into the darts history books last Thursday, becoming the first Northern Irishman ever to hit a nine-darter in Premier League Darts. The moment came during his quarter-final against Gian van Veen on Night 4 of the Premier League Darts 2026 in Belfast, sending the home crowd into a frenzy as he delivered perfection on the sport's biggest stage.
Rock's flawless leg marked the 22nd nine-darter in Premier League Darts history, placing him among an exclusive group of just 13 players to achieve the feat in the competition. Remarkably, it was already the fourth nine-darter hit in Belfast during a Premier League night, tying the Northern Irish capital with London for the most in the tournament's history. Previous nine-darters in Belfast were hit by Gerwyn Price (two in 2022) and Adrian Lewis (in 2016).
The achievement adds a significant chapter to Northern Irish darts, with Rock making his Premier League Darts debut this year. The release inside the arena was immense as he showcased the precision, rhythm, and mental strength required for the ultimate party piece in darts, confirming his class and potential on the elite weekly stage.
