Paul Krohne and Michael Unterbuchner were the standout performers as German players battled for spots in two upcoming European Tour events on Sunday. Over 120 competitors vied for four starting places each at the Host Nation Qualifiers for Riesa and Sindelfingen, following qualifiers for Göttingen and Munich the previous day.
In the Sindelfingen qualifier, 129 players competed. Marcel Hausotter and Jan Schmidt, who had qualified for Göttingen on Saturday, were knocked out early, while Florian Hempel withdrew due to back problems. Tour Card holder Maximilian Czerwinski was eliminated by Paul Krohne, who later sealed his ticket with a 6–1 win over Patrick Klingelhöfer. Michael Unterbuchner also qualified, defeating Finn Prokop 6–1 in the final. Mika Donnevert, who recently turned 18, narrowly missed out, losing 6–4 to Michael Hurtz in the final. The final spot went to Robin Masino, who averaged under 80 in all matches but beat Marcel Hausotter and Luca Wolff before defeating Dominic Ferrero 6–2 in the final.
For the Riesa qualifier, Krohne and Unterbuchner delivered again. Krohne posted a 101 average in a final win over Florian Drews, while Unterbuchner defeated Daniel Klose with a 99 average. Klose has now failed to qualify in four attempts this year. Michael Hurtz narrowly missed out again, losing 6–4 to 19-year-old Finn Behrens, who qualifies for his third European Tour event after debuting in Munich last year and requalifying for Munich the day before. The final ticket went to Liam Maendl-Lawrence, who beat Andree Welge 6–2 in the final.
With Martin Schindler and Niko Springer permanently on the European Tour, at least six German players will feature in home events. Krohne leads with three qualifications from the first four tournaments, while Behrens and Unterbuchner have each secured two spots. All other players have managed just a single qualification this year.
