Scott Williams admitted he has been battling dartitis after a 6-2 defeat to Ricky Evans in the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze on Friday, March 20, 2026. The World No. 44 averaged just 83.48 and struggled on the outer ring, but took positives from the match despite the loss.
In a post-match Instagram story, Williams congratulated Evans, saying, "Well done Ricky there, that was a great game. His scoring was decent for the most part and his doubles were very good." He added, "Fair play to you, my man. I appreciate you and all the best tomorrow against Ryan Searle." Williams then opened up about his recent issues, stating, "I have positives from that. You guys will see this and go I was dog s***. I actually have positives from that because I have been struggling recently with dartitis."
Williams revealed that a clip of him failing to release a dart during a ProTour match had circulated on social media and media, which he said was "treated like cancer." He emphasized his determination to overcome the condition, noting, "But I have the right guys around me and the right team. I have people supporting me and pushing me through this. So, thank you to them guys and also all the best to Ricky."
The Englishman also confirmed he will stay in Belgium over the weekend to support his close friend Josh Rock, who begins action on Saturday. Williams said, "I am going to be here [in Belgium] for the rest of the weekend, so I am going to have a great time. I am going to be supporting Josh Rock. I love you guys and thank you so much for your support." Rock is currently facing his own challenges in the Premier League, having failed to win a game yet.
