Gerwyn Price has slammed the playing conditions at the Berlin arena following his Premier League Darts defeat to Luke Littler on Thursday night. The Welshman, who was eliminated in the semi-finals, took to Instagram after the match to vent his frustrations, stating: "So bloody frustrating. Luke's playing really well at the moment, but to have to play in such shocking conditions it's so bloody hard. But nothing's ever done..." His comments suggest broader, ongoing concerns among players about venue consistency.
Price had shown strong form earlier in the evening, posting a 101.56 average in a dominant quarter-final win over Gian van Veen. Despite another solid performance with a 98.17 average in the semi-finals, he was beaten 6-4 by Littler, who fired in a 108.58 average to take control. Price's remark that "nothing's ever done" hints at repeated issues rather than a one-off complaint.
The Iceman didn't stop there, questioning the consistency of conditions across Premier League venues with a pointed comparison: "Maybe it'd be easier to play on the beach front outdoors every week so we know what to expect..." He concluded his message by thanking the Berlin crowd: "Thanks all for the amazing support once again, you really are amazing. Onto next week it is."
Despite the defeat, Price remained competitive throughout the night, with his performance levels underscoring that he was far from off his game. Meanwhile, Littler continued his dominant Premier League campaign, going on to win the night by beating Michael van Gerwen 6-4 in the final, further strengthening his position at the top of the table.
