MICHAEL VAN GERWEN WITHDRAWS FROM PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS IN GLASGOW DUE TO ILLNESS, LUKE LITTLER GETS BYE

Michael van Gerwen has pulled out of Night Three of the Premier League Darts in Glasgow due to illness, forcing his withdrawal from the event at the OVO Hydro on Thursday, February 19, 2026. The Dutch star was scheduled to face Luke Littler in the quarter-finals, but under tournament rules, Littler receives a bye into the semi-finals, earning two league points and a +1 leg difference.

Van Gerwen's absence deals a blow to his campaign, as he had started strongly by winning Night One in Newcastle and finishing as runner-up to Gerwyn Price in Antwerp last week. The seven-time Premier League champion receives no league points and a -6 leg difference for missing the Glasgow card. This isn't his first withdrawal; last year, he missed action in Berlin due to a shoulder injury.

In the updated bracket, Luke Littler will now face either Jonny Clayton or Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals. The other quarter-finals feature Stephen Bunting vs Gian van Veen and Luke Humphries vs Josh Rock, with all matches being best of 11 legs. The final matchup is yet to be determined as the night progresses.
